A multinational telecommunication company had recently completed a merger resulting in a $23 billon Fortune 500 company.  As a result of the merger, they were looking for strategic options on how to rationalize IT services and delivery. The client was seeking an optimized delivery model, taking into consideration market trends such as-a-service models to help with capex optimization. Options to be considered included: best of breed of the two former organizations’ delivery models, greenfield options, and infrastructure as a service models.

ISG performed an operational assessment of the merged environment and baselined the current spend.  By comparing the client’s current state environment, spend, and contracts to the market, we identified and analyzed opportunities to be considered for optimizing service delivery. After analyzing potential scenarios and associated business cases, ISG recommended a scenario meeting the client’s objectives and crafted a roadmap to guide the path forward.
